<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="en-gb" xml:lang="en-gb">Sandracca is a natural resin obtained from the Juniperus comunis shrub.</span></p> <p>It is a shellac-like resin, but much clearer, and is used as a final varnish for lacquered furniture or as a varnish additive.</p> <p>With this resin we obtain a film of high gloss and hardness and good adhesion.</p> <p>Sandracca can also be used in some varnishes as a substitute for shellac due to the need to have a finish that does not alter the colour of the wood, especially light ones.</p> <h3>Our evaluation of the Grinepro sandarac resin</h3> <p>At <strong>Grandi Liutai</strong>, we recently evaluated the Grinepro sandarac resin for the protection of furniture and musical instruments, as well as its usefulness in the preparation of varnishes and lacquers. After conducting a series of tests in our luthier laboratories, we were very satisfied with the results obtained.
