Japanese bar clamps are not designed to develop a lot of pressure, so they can be lightly constructed with eye-pleasing lines. They are well suited, especially the smaller clamps in solid brass, to work on display, or anywhere the use of such elegant tools will be appreciated (even if only by you!). The delicate tools allow finely-fitted small and delicate work pieces to be clamped for fitting and glueing. The clamping depth is limited, so the workpiece normally lies directly on the polished bars, allowing precise clamping while making it less likely the piece will slip out of alignment.
