This set was designed for use at construction sites, which usually lack an adequate supply of chisels. The 3/16 inch (4 mm) chisel is suitable for cutting mortises; the medium-profile gouge is useful in mounting locks and strike plates; the cranked chisel is invaluable for corner and rabbeting work - the only paring chisel which can be struck with a hammer without second thought.
