    <h2>The most used resin for violins and bows</h2> <p>Rosin is a solid resin derived from the oleo-resin (crude turpentine) exuded by various species of pine tree. Rosin is extracted by heating the oleo-resin to vaporise the essential oils (spirit of turpentine), or through a naphtha solvent process. Rosin is mainly produced in Portugal and Brazil but Indonesia, northern Vietnam, southern China, the US, Mexico and France are also producers.</p> <p>Rosin is sold as a semi-transparent solid ranging in colour from yellow to black and has a faint odour of pine. The commercial grades range from A (the darkest) to K (yellow red), M (yellow brown) and N (deep yellow), through to superior WG ("Window Glass", yellow) and WW ("Water White", slight yellow) sold here by Grandi Liutai Italiani. Rosin is brittle and easily crumbled at room temperature, but melts at around 100-120 °C and is highly flammable. Rosin dissolves in alcohol, benzene, chloroform and ether. It is also soluble in spirit of turpentine and turpentine substitute.</p> <h3>Our evaluation of Portuguese Clear Rosin flakes</h3> <p>We at <strong>Grandi Liutai</strong> have evaluated the use of the Portuguese Clear Rosin Flakes - 100 g in our luthier laboratories, and we are very satisfied with the results. We have found that it is a high-quality product with numerous positive characteristics in the production and maintenance of stringed musical instruments. The Portuguese Clear Rosin Flakes - 100 g has proven to be a high-quality product, ideal for producing a clear and crystalline sound in stringed instruments such as violins, cellos, violas, and double basses. We have also noticed that this rosin is suitable for all types of strings, whether steel or gut. Secondly, we evaluated its ease of use. The rosin flakes dissolve easily. Additionally, the consistency of the rosin allows for easy manipulation, making it ideal for hand applications. Thirdly, we evaluated the durability and stability of the rosin. We at Grandi Liutai have found that the Portuguese Clear Rosin Flakes - 100 g maintains its long-term adhesion, even in hot and humid environments. This makes it ideal for industrial applications that require strong long-term adhesion. In summary, our evaluation of the use of the Portuguese Clear Rosin Flakes - 100 g in <strong>musical instruments is extremely positive</strong>. Its high quality, the consistency of the flakes, durability, and safety in use make it an ideal choice for every musician, whether professional or amateur. We highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality rosin for their stringed instrument.</p>
