The Scraper Plane KUNZ n.112 is a special plane made in Germany by KUNZ (a leading authority in the design of woodworking tools) on the Stanley n. 112, where essentially a thick blunt scraper is inserted as if it were a blade to a plane with a wide sole.

Although generally a planed finish is always preferable to a scraped finish performed with a scraper, the Scraper Plane KUNZ n.112 is particularly useful for finishing woods that do not perform well when planed or woods difficult to finish with the classic manual planers, like very flamed maple or poplar.

The Scraper Plane KUNZ n.112 features, instead of the typical blade of a plane, a special and thick (1.5 mm) scraper made of tool steel alloy tempered to a hardness of 62 HRC (Hardness Rockwell Cone) and sharpened. The scraper blade of the Scraper Plane KUNZ n.112 has, unlike the manual scraper, a 25 ° sharp bevel that guarantees a greater scraping capacity.
