Alabaster plaster is a calcined plaster obtained by firing ground calcium sulphate dihydrate (CaSO4-2H2O) in methane ovens with homogenization and constant temperatures.
This way a mixable product is obtained which, once refined with wind separators to obtain the required particle size, finds ideal application in the making of molds, for the production of plaster items, such as frames and rosettes.
Alabaster plaster has good characteristics of hardness, compactness and whiteness, but still inferior to other plasters based on calcium sulphate hemihydrate (ceramic plaster and synthetic plaster).
It is suitable for the moldings and plaster castings.
